Meet Dr. Nick Teich
A long time camp professional that founded Harbor Camps in 2009 for transgender & non-binary youth, directing it for 13 years. Since then he started three more camps for special populations, consults on gender inclusivity and mental health. He is also one of the ACA-New England Board of Directors.
Dr. Nick Teich, PhD, LCSW, is a longtime camp professional who consults with camps on myriad issues, with specific focus on gender inclusivity and mental health.
In 2009 Nick founded Harbor Camps for transgender & non-binary youth and directed it for the first 13 years. He then started three additional camps for different special populations. He remains an internal consultant for Harbor Camps and founded Fairwinds Camp Consulting in 2023. Nick began his overnight camping career in Maine at the age of 10, where he subsequently became a CIT, counselor, and a member of the camp leadership. Prior to overnight camp, he was a day camper in NY. Nick is on the ACA-New England Board of Directors and is a member of Maine Summer Camps. He is a past recipient of the ACA's Eleanor Eells Award for Program Excellence. Nick has a master's degree in social work from Boston College and a doctorate in social policy from Brandeis University. He lives in the Boston area with his wife and two young daughters.
